Located in the eastern corridor of Pune- Viman Nagar falls around half a kilometer from the military air base which also serves as Pune Airport. Due to the presence of nearby Airbase, Viman Nagar has got its name derived from the same. However, before independence, this area was known as Dunkirk Lines.
The area falls in close proximity to most of the luxurious localities of Pune, which includes Kalyani Nagar, Yerwada, Vishrantwadi, and Dhanori-Lohegaon. Because of its quality neighbourhood, the area has seen lots of real estate development in last few years.
