In Goa, the registration of sales agreement has become easy as the Government introduced the National Generic Document Registration System to offer the facility of registering sale deeds online. This new system to make registration of sale agreement legal is operational in Tiswadi and Bardez and is planned to be adopted by all talukas in the Union Territory.
Ashutosh Apte, the State registrar informed that the administration has received orders from the Central Government to implement the new system as it has been made applicable at the taluka offices and the employees have been trained for the same.
The resident has to upload the document on the link displayed on the registrar’s website to get the agreement/deed registered from Government.
Sub-registrar is the final registering authority and the official will take two days to examine the uploaded document before giving it a legal nod. The State registrar also said that the uploaded documents will be examined on the basis of first come first serve basis as it will make the system more transparent.
Apte also said that the document will be examined once only for all factors like land rate and more. Also, the payment for the registration fee and the processing fee can be made online. But, the payment of stamp duty has to be paid at the revenue department as it does not come under the office of the sub-registrar.
The payment option is yet to be made online by the revenue department and the person will have the option to choose the time and date of his/her preference for registration once all things are done.
Apte also said that till now we have registered more than 300 documents online and on an average each taluka office has receives 20 to 25 documents for registration. The employees are also getting familiar with the new system.
The introduction of a new system will offer an easy process to register sale deed without the need of visiting the office of the sub-registrar.
