PM Narendra Modi may inaugurate extension of Blue line metro tomorrow i.e. 8th March. This extended metro line connects Noida city centre metro station with Electronic city sector 62, metro station while passing through sector 52 and five other stations.
SK Pathak, Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety granted approval to get the metro line operational for the passengers travelling on this route. The stretch is 6.675-km long and its safety inspection was carried out a few days back the commissioner himself.
The blue line metro route has all elevated stations including Sector 34, Sector 52, Sector 61, Sector 59, Sector 62 and Noida Electronic City.
The plan is to make metro commutation easier for the passengers by connecting the blue line metro with Aqua Line. The strategy is to have a dedicated pathway and a carriage-way to ply e-rickshaws that will connect these two metro lines as the metro station of Sector 52 Noida and terminus of the Aqua Line only has a distance of 300 metres.
PM Modi will also inaugurate the 9.4-km-long Dilshad Garden-New Bus Adda section and this is the extended arm of Delhi metro’s Red Line. Apart from this, Prime Minister will also flag-off civilian flights operation at the Hindon air base.
This functional blue line metro will ease connectivity to Noida and Greater Noida as the close proximity of metro stations on both blue and aqua line will ensure the last mile connectivity in the region. Earlier, people had connectivity to Noida city centre from Dwarka sector 21 and Vaishali metro station via Yamuna Bank interchange.
