The Rajasthan state completed the construction of more than three lacs affordable homes under the PMAY [Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojna] Scheme. These homes fall under the rural area of Rajasthan.
Sudarshan Sethi, the additional chief secretary Panchayati Raj and Rural Development stated that the Government was targeting to complete the construction of 4.73 lakh affordable homes in the last two years and the construction of 3,03,000 lakh homes has been completed. He further said that the construction of the remaining homes is in completion stage and are expected to be ready by June this year.
The recipients of these homes have also been credited with 1.2 lacs rupees. These beneficiaries received rupees 16,290 for three months under the NAREGA Scheme and got an additional grant of rupees 12,000 to build toilets under the Swach Bharat Mission.
These homes are designed by IIT-Delhi and thus these living structures are best to live under the agro-climate of the region. Apart from this, the beneficiaries of these homes are also eligible for LPG connection under Ujjwala Scheme, power supply via solar power plant, water connection, road connectivity and various other group housing facilities.
