Online Property Registration in Punjab India: To ease property registration, the Punjab revenue department introduced 19 templates of documents related to property registration in Punjab which can be downloaded free of cost by the property owners. Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria, Punjab Revenue Minister, said that one can quickly amend these templates as per the requirement.

A questionnaire and answers are also uploaded on the website to help the property owners to make the property deed as this will help people directly and ease the registration of property in Punjab. This questionnaire consists of 23 questions-answers related to the property’s general queries, mainly about the registration process in the sub-registrar’s office. 

Vini Mahajan, the Additional Chief Secretary Revenue, said people earlier the property owners had to rely on deed writers or advocates for getting the property registration documents ready, but now with the 19 templates of documents for the online property registration in Punjaon the Punjab land registry department’s website will make the entire registration process hassle-free.

In June, the Punjab Government launched the National Generic Document Registration System [NGDRS)] for the online registry of land in Punjab. This digital move made the property registration a convenient move for the resident of the state as property owners can now take a prior appointment for the same process at the Sub-registrar’s Office.

Required Documents for Online Property Registration in Punjab

To register the property online, there are some required documents to continue the whole process. These are: 

  • Encumbrance Certificate
  • Challan/DD evidencing payment of full stamp duty and transfer duty (if any) and Registration fee and user charges
  • Aadhar Card
  • PAN card
  • Map of land
  • Property card
  • an original document bearing the signature of all parties
  • Proof of Identity of both seller and buyer and also the witness
  • original Id proof and address proof
  • Deed/Document to be registered
  • power of attorney
  • Valuation Certificate issued by the concerned Tahsildar.

 

Eligibility for Property Registration in Punjab:

If you want to register your property online, then you should have the land in your name; you should be the legal heirs of the deceased landowner, authorized signatory, or power of attorney.

You can reach the department’s website www.revenue.punjab.gov.in to register your property online for a smooth process. Until now, the Punjab Government’s revenue department recorded 1.4 lakh property registrations online. Punjab is the first state to introduce an online property registration process in the country, and the portal is also receiving a positive response from the citizens.
