In a major development which can also be said as a New Year Gift to the Noida residents, the city is all set to receive infrastructure projects worth Rs 2,881 crore this year. According to the Noida authority officials, these projects include elevated roads, underpasses, new district hospital, parks and much more.
For most of them amongst the above, foundation stone has already been laid down, while work on the rest will start this year. Some of the major developments for the public will be a Dada-Dadi Park in Sector 62 at a cost of Rs 14.57 crore, a Shilp Haat and Bunkar Bhawan in Sector 33-A at Rs 72.57 crore, a Traffic Park in Sector 108 at Rs 34.71 crore, and a Command Control Centre in Sector 94 at Rs 22.35 crore.
Apart from them, other important projects which will provide big relief to the Noida-Delhi daily commuters are a six-lane bridge near Kalindi Kunj and a bridge over Shahdara Drain. “The estimated cost for the above two projects will be Rs 119.95 crore and Rs 20 crore respectively. The foundation stone for both the projects has already been laid last year” Noida Authority General Manager Rajeev Tyagi informed.
He further added that there are some projects whose foundation stone will be laid in 2019. These projects include a 2.36 km underpass between Sector 96 and Sector 126 under the Noida to Greater Noida Expressway. The project cost will be Rs 97.66 crore. The authority will also start work on the construction of a 5.5-km elevated road from Chilla Regulator near Mayur Vihar to the Mahamaya Flyover along the Shahdara Drain. The project will be developed at an estimated cost of Rs 650 crore.
Along with this, work will also start on a 780 mt. long underpass near Sectors 51, 51 and 71, 72 with an estimated cost of Rs 55.28 crore.
“Another elevated road which is in the pipeline is from Agahpur Filling Station on the DSC Road up to the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Sector 81. Work on the project will start from February with an estimated cost of Rs 451.64 crore.” Tyagi added.
Apart from the above-mentioned projects, other infrastructure developments worth Rs 1,342.37 crore will also be inaugurated by the end of 2019. These projects include construction of underground parking space in sectors 1, 3, 5 and 16-A, multi-level parking space in Sector 38-A.
On expansion of parking space, Tyagi said that this has been a major issue in Noida. So, to get rid of this we have decided to develop parking space for 9,761 cars before May 2019. This will certainly be the best gift for Noida residents.
Other likely developments include a shooting range and an indoor stadium in Noida Stadium, new district hospital building in sector- 39 and a bus terminal in Sector-82.
