In a recent development, the district administration acquired 36 hectares of land for the proposed Jewar airport and handed it over to YEIDA i.e the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority.

The acquired land parcels include 22.28 hectares in Kishorepur and 13.64 hectares in Ranhera. YEIDA has a total of 594 hectares of land in its possession after the completion of this tranche of land acquisition.

Before this, the district administration had acquired the sixth tranche of land with 125 hectares in Dayantpur. For the first phase of the proposed Jewar international airport, a total of 1,334 hectares is required out of which 1,239 hectares of land will be acquired from the villagers.

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority now has the possession of 125 hectares in Dayanatpur, 225 hectares in Rohi, 100 hectares in Kishorepur, Ranhera 94 hectares, Parohi 45 hectares and Banwaribas 4 hectares.

Abhay Kumar Singh, Deputy Collector, Jewar said that the authority has acquired 22.28 hectares in Kishorepur and 13.64 hectares in Ranhera earlier this week and the possession of these land parcels is given to YEIDA.

He further said that the authority had acquired land in these two villages earlier also but 36 hectares is yet to be handed over. Apart from this, the files of this leftover land parcel will get clearance now.

Earlier this month, the Gautam Buddh Nagar administration had acquired and transferred another tranche of land measuring upto 229.5 hectare to the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEDIA) for the proposed Jewar airport, officials informed.

A land parcel of 225 and 4.5 hectare was acquired from the Rohi village and Banwaribans respectively. Till now, a total of 433-hectare land had been acquired.
