DMRC The metro commuters in Noida have a reason to cheer. As the 300-metre walkway to connect interchange metro stations of the Blue Line and Aqua Lines, has been inaugurated and become operational.

DS Mishra, Secretary, Housing and Urban Affairs inaugurated Delhi Metro Rail Corporation’s (DMRC) Blue Line, inaugurated the walkway, built between Sector 51 metro station on the Aqua Line and the Sector 52 metro station on the blue line recently.

DMRC also announced the same on their twitter account and tweeted the walkway, built by the Noida Metro Rail Corporation, will facilitate those traveling to Greater Noida from various parts of Delhi.

The commuters especially the senior citizens were demanding for this bridge from a long time and DS Mishra expressed his happiness on twitter over dedicating this walkway to the citizens.

His tweet said, I had announced that we will develop an all-weather pedestrian pathway and deploy e-rickshaws between the two stations, which will offer free of cost rides.

I feel immensely proud that the 300 mtr long walkway announced 4 months back, has been dedicated to the citizens today.

While considering the comfort of the passengers, the NMRC i.e. [Noida Metro Rail Corporation] had also offered free solar-powered e–rickshaw services on this stretch as it makes connectivity between the two metro rail networks easy, DMRC said.

Earlier in May, the senior citizens demanded a bridge that will connect Sector 51 station of Noida Metro’s Aqua Line with the metro station of Sector 52 a blue line metro station of Delhi metro.

The Aqua line metro is a 29.7-km long stretch and runs between Sector 51 and Depot stations. On the other hand, the blue line metro is the longest route of Delhi metro and it runs from Dwarka Sector 21 to the Electronic City, Noida. It has an interchanging station at Yamuna bank the metro is also destined to end at Vaishali, Ghaziabad.

Before this, the commuters had to exit at Sector 51 station and then need to walk approximately 200 metres on an under-construction road to reach the Blue Line metro station at Sector 52, one of the commuters said.
