With land acquisition and bid application process on a fast-track mode, the construction work of proposed Jewar Airport is all set to start soon. However, the way central and state governments are putting in efforts for this ambitious project, many leading business conglomerates, and MNCs have shown their interest in the localities nearby it like Yamuna Expressway that has boosted the real estate investments in last few years.
Giving information on these investments Shailendra Bhatia, officer on special duty, Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) said, “From the time government has approved the airport project, the interest of companies has soared up. For instance, in the last one and a half year, the Yamuna authority has allotted 338.21-acre land to about 180 units in and around Yamuna City, with a total investment of Rs 6,888 crore.”
He further informed that the land allotment for the same is being done via a single-window system that eases the process of registration for the companies and businesses. Setting of these industries will not only boost the economy but will also help in employment generation for lakhs of professionals.
The biggest investment till date has been done by leading mobile company VIVO, wherein the authority has allotted a 169-acre plot in Sector 24A in November 2018. The investment made by the company is Rs 5,200 crore.
Some other big investments were done by Haldirams (24.7 acres in sector-32 with an investment of 245 crores), Avery Dennison, a Fortune 500 company (12.3 acres land with investments worth Rs 231 crore), Yingtong Electronic and Xihi Technology Pvt Ltd (9.88 acre each in sector- 24 with an investment of 184 crore).
“All these allotments are mainly done in the industrial and institutional segments of Yamuna Expressway like sector 22E, 23E, 24, 29, 32 and 33 that will boost the livability index of the area.” Arun Vir Singh, CEO, YEIDA added.
Apart from the above, YEIDA has also allotted 11.25-acre land to three companies in Sector 24. These companies include MT&T Ltd and Raj Corporation (5 acres each) and Kesharwani Pvt Ltd (1.25 acre).
Once operational, the Greenfield international airport at Jewar will cater to the population living in around 43 districts nearby.
