After allocating Rs 800 crore for the Jewar International Airport in the recent budget, UP CM Yogi Adityanath has directed all the officials to rush up the work on the project, so that the foundation stone can be laid down in the first week of March. The information has been recently announced by the Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh after a brief meeting of him with the UP CM in Greater Noida.
Giving more information on the meeting, Dhirendra Singh said, “I met CM during his recent visit to Greater Noida. I have briefed him about the work completed on the Greenfield International Airport project to date. The CM has ordered all the officials to fast track the work and finish off all the necessary formalities by February 28. They want to lay the foundation stone and perform Bhoomi Pujan in between March 1 to March 3 as the election code of conduct will kick-off from March 4.”
District magistrate BN Singh also confirmed the above news. “The CM has asked all preliminary work to be completed as soon as possible,” added Singh.
Among other senior officials, YEIDA CEO Arun Veer Singh, who is also the CEO of NIAL, was also present during the meeting with CM. After the meeting, he gave detailed information on the Jewar Airport Project. He said that the bid document from the Civil Aviation Ministry is expected this week. We are working hard on the project so that the foundation stone laying ceremony can be held in the first week of March, as asked by the CM Adityanath.
Recently, the DMRC has also submitted their techno-feasibility report to the YEIDA CEO Arunvir Singh on extending the currently operational Aqua Line to Jewar Airport, in order to provide seamless connectivity to passengers traveling from Delhi, Noida and Greater Noida.
