Recently, the Uttar Pradesh State Government issued a directive to all the development authorities for starting an online approval process for building maps that too within 30 days of receipt. The Government aims to bring transparency in the system through this process.
All the development authorities across the state will issue online approval for building maps.
Deepak Kumar, Principal Secretary, UP Government-issued guideline and said that every applicant should receive the application status. He also said that all issues related to approval should be resolved within 30 days and the concerned officials will be held responsible for delay in any such proceeding.
All the authorities are directed to implement an online system to approve building maps with immediate effect, Deepak Kumar, Principal Secretary said.
Somkamal Sitaram, Joint secretary of Agra Development Authority said that applications for building map approval will be issued online and the system necessary for the same will be implemented at the earliest.
Earlier to this, the Uttar Pradesh Government hired five private entities to prepare a database of properties and also to figure out property tax defaulters. These companies will conduct GIS mapping of 14 cities including Agra, Lucknow, Ghaziabad, Prayagraj, Kanpur and Meerut. The survey is likely to begin by September end and all properties falling under the jurisdiction of Agra Municipal Corporation will be mapped with the help of GIS.
The records updated in 2018 shows that there are approximately 1 lakh property owners with zero outstanding payable amount while a total number of registered properties in Agra stands at 3.20 lakh.
