In Chandigarh, several residential properties are lined up for E-auction and out of these, two residential plots covering an area of 528 square yards each in Sector 40 has reversed highest bid price of Rs. 3.71 crore.
The UT administration commenced the procedure of E-auction of various commercial, residential and industrial sites on January 9. On a whole, 10 properties are listed from freehold residential sites, 13 from leasehold commercial sites, and 1 is a leasehold industrial site.
In the commercial properties, a shop located in Sector 42 covering an area of 121 square yards bid the highest reserved price of Rs 3.73 crore. This auction is open for the public and documents for the same can be submitted till 23rd January.
Other than this, the Chandigarh administration is also forming a helpdesk to develop digital signatures of the applicants.
The bidding procedure will begin from 9 Am on 31st January and the E-auction will close on 4th February at 4 pm.
In 2018, the UT Administration had decided to auction 73 properties in Chandigarh but later the authority decided to E-auction 25 to 30 properties including residential, commercial and industrial sites.
The UT administration also directed multiple departments like electricity, horticulture, and engineering to provide a-No Objection Certificate [NOC] for all these properties.
In December 2009, the Chandigarh administration collected Rs. 100 crore from the E-auction and they solely generated 4 crores collection by auctioning a one-canal plot in Sector 19. In the bidding process, this plot was secured at a price of Rs 1.14 crore.
