In a recent development, Hardeep Singh Puri, Union Minister for Urban and Housing Affairs (MoUHA) inaugurated CLSS Awas Portal for the affordable housing beneficiaries as people can track the status of their housing subsidy under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (PMAY)-Urban through their applications.
During the launch of this portal, the minister said that grievances of beneficiaries will be addressed in a comprehensive and organized manner.
The Narendra Modi-led Union Government offers an interest subsidy of Rs. 2.67 lakh on the home loans to individuals under the Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojna. This financial assistance curbs the burden of principal outstanding amount from the loan.
At the event, the minister also said that the CLSS Awas Portal will be of great help to other stakeholders to work for timely submission of the subsidy amount in the account of beneficiaries.
The Union Government also launched Global Housing Technology Challenge-India (GHTC-India) to meet the goal of Housing for All by the set deadline by receiving international acclaim, alternate and proven construction technologies to get the work done fastly and in a budget-friendly manner.
The Memorandum of Agreements (MoAs) for Light House Projects under GHTC-India were also signed between the Union MoUHA ministry and six states including Gujarat, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Tripura and Uttar Pradesh.
MoUHA minister Puri also appreciated the State Governments to construct light house projects in Indore, Rajkot, Chennai, Ranchi, Agartala and Lucknow. The ministry has also sanctioned a technology innovation grant as an additional grant of Rs. 2 lakh per house for the Light House projects and this is more than the existing share of Rs 1.5 lakh per house under PMAY(U).
