Last week, the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram [MCG] took over the charge of Suncity project for maintenance. The corporation will be responsible to carry out all the civic works in the area that includes repairing of road, maintenance of streetlights, water distribution and more.
The MCG also got sanctions to commence civic works in South City 1 and Palam Vihar.
The developer had to finish the infrastructure work of Suncity and DLF 1, 2, 3 before the takeover by MCG. On the other hand, the developers in Palam Vihar, Sushant Lok 1 and South City 1 expressed their inability to finish civic works that the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram has to complete after the takeover.
The developers will compensate MCG with land or with money.
Yashpal Yadav, MCG commissioner said that the corporation has allotted tenders and commenced the survey for civic works in Palam Vihar, Nirvana Country and South City 1. The State Government is likely to give nod for the same in Sushant Lok 1 in few day times and the work will then begin.
The paper work for the purpose of take over still needs to be cleared in these cases. However, the civic works in all four colonies is either commenced or is about to begin although approvals for other colonies, including DLF 1, 2 and 3 are yet to receive clearance.
According to the sources, the implementation of Code of Conduct for the upcoming general assembly elections is likely to delay takeover of projects by the MCG as the Government may not pass the orders to go-ahead.
The Commissioner also said that in accordance with the present situation, there should be no issues to complete takeover of these colonies and the corporation will not be hesitant to write about the same to the Election Commission for further action.
