GDA i.e. the Ghaziabad Development Authority has decided to amend building bylaws in order to offer some relaxation to the city residents.
Kanchan Verma, the Vice Chairperson of the Ghaziabad Development Authority said that earlier, the building bylaws sought zero alteration to the housing units that were constructed by the authority. But, with the passage of time we have realized that minor alterations are required in the housing units and the growth in population is one of the reasons for this requirement.
She also said that the decision to amend building bylaws will be beneficial for thousands of city residents as they were barred from making changes to the dwelling units till now. In the recently held meeting, a total of 45 proposals were tabled out of which 37 were passed without alteration while six were passed with amendments and remaining were rejected.
The Ghaziabad Development Authority also gave nod to the proposed multi-level parking at RDC [Rajnagar District Centre] as a mechanized parking that will be developed under the Private Public Partnership [PPP] model. The authority will invite tenders for the construction of this multi-level parking soon. The decision to change criteria from multi-level parking to multi-level mechanized parking was taken after carrying out the study of underground multi-level parking.
This multi-level parking will have ground floor plus six floors with the capacity to park 600 four-wheelers. Apart from this decision, the Ghaziabad Development Authority also gave nod to construct banquet halls in residential areas but also said that it should not disturb the traffic movement especially at the trunk road.
