The Delhi Development Authority [DDA] is planning to launch its next housing scheme in a two-phase manner. In the first phase, the authority is planning to launch nearly 10,000 flats.

At a press conference, Tarun Kapoor, the DDA vice chairman said that in the next six months, nearly 25,000 flats will be ready as many residential units are in the under construction stage. He also informed that however, not all flats will have water connections and other utilities. Hence we are planning to segregate the flats in two phases in the scheme.

The Vice-Chairman did not give any timeline for the launch of a new housing scheme and also did not confirm whether the phased housing scheme will be launched in the same year or not.

He further said that the Delhi Development Authority is trying to include 10,000 flats in the first lot and the remaining ones in the next batch. In September, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) launched its much-awaited ‘Housing Scheme 2014’ and offered more than 25,000 flats in multiple categories.

Out of the total offered flats, in the scheme, 22,627 were one-bedroom apartments. The same scheme offered flats costing between Rs. 7 lakh to Rs 1.2 crore in multiple categories that are EWS, LIG, MIG, HIG, Janta flats and one-room apartments.

Kapoor, Vice Chairman of the Delhi Development Authority said that we will lay down the guidelines for the maintenance of the flats in future. He further said that there are three levels to the same, the manufacturing defect to be checked every five years, repair job according to what is mentioned in the scheme brochure and the last one is the day-to-day repair.

He also said that e-auction of the various commercial properties will be done soon.
