To involve residents in the development of the National capital, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is all set to launch a specific website for the Delhi Master Plan 2041. This will help the authority to reshape Delhi from it’s resident’s views in the next 20 years.
A senior official, who is also working on the website development said, “The interactive website will provide detailed information about the Delhi Master Plan 2041 as well as other related policies of DDA to the residents. The DDA website will have the link of this microsite. By clicking on the link, the residents will be transferred to that page.”
The official further informed that DDA is planning to regularly post updates on that microsite, apart from publishing papers and studies related to the master plan. It will also have information on various public and stakeholders meetings on the master plan.
To involve more and more public participation, DDA is also creating various surveys that will soon be uploading on the portal.
“The surveys will be on various topics. From pollution to transportation or housing, the surveys will help us to get a better understanding of the people’s aspirations. The surveys will also be based on geographical location, age group, and gender, etc. so that the master plan for Delhi can reflect on separate needs,” the official added.
As per the information, the website will be wholly and solely developed by the authority’s in-house systems department and will also have features such as real-time satellite imagery and a good graphic user interface.
To make the system transparent, the DDA will also provide information on the discussed and considered feedbacks of the public.
For those who are not computer-friendly, DDA is planning to develop mobile applications and SMS-based mechanism to ensure their participation too. “The agenda is to involve every Delhiite in preparing the best master plan of Delhi 2041.” Official ended.
