The Delhi Development Authority [DDA] is planning to have a mega auction to sell a huge number of its residential, commercial, industrial and institutional plots that are lying vacant while waiting for the buyers. This event will attract a huge number public as the land parcel is not easily available now a days, especially in the national capital city.

At a press conference, Tarun Kapoor the Vice Chairman, DDA said that from now our website will showcase all forthcoming auction events in a highlighted manner as it will bring in more transparency. He also said that there are large numbers of plots lying vacant in the city and this also leads to encroachments.

The DDA Vice Chairman told the press that there are total 575 plots lying vacant out of which, 141 are residential plots, 44 kiosks, 253 commercial built-up units in general category, 120 in reserved category, nine large industrial plots and eight are institutional plots.

Tarun Kapoor, the recently appointed Vice Chairman of the Delhi Development Authority also informed about the authority’s plan to start an initiative to ensure better maintenance of the parks falling under their jurisdiction.

He further said that the DDA has the responsibility to maintains nearly 700 parks that are segregated into two categories. The first category is of the parks that cover an area between 5 to 10 acres and the second category is of the parks cover 10 to 50 acres. Apart from this, the parks covering an area of less than three acres are being handed over to the civic agencies.

Kapoor also said that the staff of the winning park would get Rs. 10,000 each as reward and the parks will be judged on multiple parameters that include boundary walls, fencing, landscape, green cover, condition of walkways and more. The Vice Chairman of the authority called this a pilot project and said that if successful then the same kind of competition will then be planned for our contractors too.

With the speculation of DDA’s soon launching housing scheme, the Vice Chairman said that nearly 25,000 flats are in multiple stages of completion and ensured that the dwelling units with water availability will only be inducted in this scheme.
