The design for a six-lane elevated road from Chilla regulator area in Mayur Vihar Phase 1 to commute till Mahamaya flyover on the Noida Expressway along the Shahdara drain is ready.

The UP State Bridge Corporation got this flyover designed by a Mumbai-based consulting firm and the stretch of 5.5km is with IIT-Delhi for approval. The authority is expecting the sanction by next week so that the Noida authority can commence the construction work.

UP Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath approved this project that costs Rs. 650-crore and this nod is received after a delay of six years as it was proposed this many years back. The Noida Authority had already started the initial survey work along with cleaning the area.

Rajeev Tyagi, General Manager, Noida Authority, said that they are now waiting for the design sanction by IIT-Delhi after which a presentation of the project will be given to the CEO of Noida Authority. The construction work of the same will begin then.

The traffic congestion between Delhi and Noida will come to an end after the construction of this elevated road is completed as the traffic will move smoothly through sectors 14A, 15A and 16A, Mayur Vihar Phase 1 and the Noida Expressway. This will also cut down the travel time.

Tyagi, General Manager also said that at Sector 35 yard, the iron and steel casts will be made while the fabrication of the structure will be carried out on-site. He also informed that the foundation will be in pile form and its sub-structure will have a single solid pier and a super structure will have spine and wing arrangement.

The road will have LED lights and beautified from recycled materials such as planters, along with water harvesting points after the construction work is completed.

The estimated time to complete the project is 42 months and the authority wish to make the road operational in a phase-manner.

Tyagi further said that we are looking at every possibility to release the first ramp close to Sector 14A from the Chilla regulator near Mayur Vihar on completion. This is being planned to make the project lively while utilizing the remaining stretch that is under construction.
