The State-owned project management consulting company, NBCC will be building one lakh plus affordable homes on its private land. The company is also planning to construct the same on the plots that are under Government’s jurisdiction.
The company has expressed its opinion to support the Government’s Objective of Housing for All by 2022. An NBCC official confirmed the news and said that they are planning to build one lakh plus affordable homes in the next five years. He further added that some of these projects will commence this year and the entire project is estimated to cost Rs 10,000 crore.
The affordable housing units will start from Rs 10 lakh and will be available upto Rs 50-60 lakh according to the location. The NBCC is likely to gain 8-10 percent profit out of these residential projects. The company owns 200 acres of land in various cities like Alwar, Jaipur, Faridabad, Kochi, Patna, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar and Coimbatore. Also, the NBCC has discussed construction plan for these projects with multiple PSUs in Delhi, Gurgaon, Pune, Hyderabad, Nainital and Raigadh near Mumbai.
