Welcome news for all the prospective Homebuyers of Navi Mumbai! With Ganesh Chaturthi all set to start in the next few days, the City Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) has planned to launch a lottery scheme for around 10,000 affordable homes in the city.
According to a CIDCO official, Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the biggest festivals for Maharashtrians. Keeping this mind, the authority has decided to introduce this lottery scheme for affordable homebuyers who want to make property purchase and investment during this period.
Giving more information on the above, Lokesh Chandra, Managing Director, CIDCO said, “So far, around 8,000 flats to be included in lottery scheme have been registered with Maharashtra RERA. The work on remaining flats is underway and once registered, they will be incorporated in the scheme too.”
He further informed that the majority of these affordable flats are located in areas like Taloja, Kharghar and other adjacent areas. Of all the homes, around 65% is allotted for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) of the society, while the rest apartments are for the Lower-Income Group (LIG).
As per the sources, the expected price of these flats will be 22-26 lakhs. However, it may change once the formal announcement of the lottery scheme will be made in the next few days.
Few weeks only, CIDCO has sanctioned Rs 19,000 crore for the construction of 90,000 affordable homes across various localities of Navi Mumbai. All these flats will be developed under the PMAY scheme that will provide homes to the lower-income and the economically-weaker section (EWS) of the society.
The beneficiaries can also avail subsidy benefits from the State government on booking homes under this category.
