MDDA i.e the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority recently took the decision to penalize builders for encroaching the land that was bought down by the authority. The penalty of Rs. 1 lakh per hectare will be imposed on the builders for illegal plotting.
In the board meeting on Monday, the development authority decided to amend the Uttarakhand Urban and Country Planning and Development Act of 1973 that will now propose police action against the encroachers.
Apart from this, the taxes on land subdivision are also proposed to be imposed.
Sanjeevan Soontha, systems administrator, MDDA said that 1 percent tax rate is determined on the residential land division under the jurisdiction of the Dehradun Municipal Corporation area and the same is fixed at 2 percent for non-residential properties that fall in its vicinity.
Soontha also informed that the 5 percent and 7 percent tax will be imposed on the residential and non-residential areas outside the jurisdiction of the Dehradun municipal area.
System administrator further said that earlier people have made changes to the building even after the completion of construction but the same will not continue to happen. The development authority, restricted amendment for making alternation in a building structure once its construction is completed. The expected earnings and estimates of expenditure of the current financial year were also discussed in the meeting.
The Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority targets to earn Rs. 805.48 crore in the current fiscal year 2019-20 and its expenditure is approximately Rs. 655.99 crore.
The authority also took the decision to make an addition of 10% in the number of HIG and MIF housing units in Transport Nagar and ISBT. The authority also suggests offering preference to the beneficiaries registered under the Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojana in the upcoming projects.
