Devendra Fadnavis, Maharashtra Chief minister recently said that in two weeks, the state council of ministers will take a decision on the penalty to be imposed on illegal construction.

Last year, the BJP Bhosari MLA Mahesh Landge, BJP Chinchwad MLA Laxman Jagtap and Pimpri Chinchwad mayor Rahul Jadhav requested the State Government to take action against illegal construction in the city as Pimpri Chinchwad has a huge number of unauthorized constructions.

Maharashtra CM made this statement while speaking in the inaugural ceremony of the Pimpri Chinchwad police Commissionerate. This function took place at Ramkrishna More auditorium in Chinchwad.

Apart from this, CM Fadnavis took part in the bhoomi pujan programme of the land parcel where the construction of nearly 5,000 dwelling units is planned under PMAY [Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojana]. The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation plans to construct 15,000 houses in the city.

The opening of a Commissionerate at Pimpri Chinchwad will easy the problem of traffic congestion.

RK Padmanabhan, Pimpri Chinchwad city police commissioner said that the opening of Commissionerate in the city will resolve traffic jam particularly in Hinjewadi IT Park. He also said that we are focusing on Service-oriented policing as it will offer huge relief to the common man.

On this Occasion, CM Fadnavis said that a committee is also set up to study the issues faced by the new Commissionerate and necessary measures will be taken to resolve them. The Director General of Police will head this committee.

The Chief Minister also praised Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation [PCMC] for forming IT-backed infrastructure through the Smart City project. Under this project, the basic amenities such as water supply can be controlled via the command and control centre that is being constructed currently.
