In a recent review meeting, the Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL) has revealed that around 12 reputed and renowned developers have expresses their interest to develop the Jewar Airport project on Yamuna Expressway. The information has been given by the NIAL chief executive officer Arun Vir Singh, in which he informed that these developers have bought bid documents for the development of the Proposed Airport.
Elaborating more on the above information, Singh said, “All these 12 developers are well-established experts of the industry. However, due to policy reasons, we can’t reveal their names now, but ensure that the best of them will be selected after all the study and research,”
Earlier on May 21, the project monitoring and implementing committee (PMIC) has set up a timeline for the execution of the project in a phase-wise manner. The UP Cabinet has ordered NIAL and state government to start the work accordingly.
“We have already started the work as per the timeline. In this regard, we have set up a pre-bid conference on the selection of developers on July 15. In this conference, we will explain the technical details related to the project and will clear the developer’s confusion, if any.” Singh added.
The NIAL, on May 30 has issued a tender to submit bids for the proposed Greenfield Noida International Airport at Jewar. As per the timeline, the authority has to finalise the developer within six months from the time of issuance of tender. “According to norms, we can finalise a developer easily as 12 developers have applied for it,” Singh concluded.
The development work on the Jewar Airport Project will commence from 2020 and the first phase will be operational by 2023. In the first phase, the administration will acquire 1,334 hectares of land in six villages. Once operational, the passenger traffic on Delhi’s IGI Airport will reduce to much extent.
