The JDA i.e. Jammu Development Authority is soon going digital and the residents here will experience a smooth online interface that will connect them with the department. An official spokesperson of the authority shared this information.

The official also said that the automation project of the Jammu Development Authority is taken care by the information technology department from last month and is moving towards its completion flawlessly.

The progress of this online system was checked by the Secretary of Information Technology, Saugat Biswas and JDA Vice Chairman Pawan Rathore in December, the official said.

According to the official, the commencement of this online system will minimize the human efforts in recording, processing, storing, retrieval and management of information for the required services of the Jammu Development Authority. The spokesperson also said that the online system will ease the process and multiple services such as an application for building permission, allotment of notified assets, registration, transfer, mortgage possession of property, permission to sub-let or renew lease of property, addition and deletion of name in lease deed, grant of no dues, online RTI, and online payments.

The authority will become a paperless organization as all records and files will be digitized by the department apart from making multiple services and internal working of the Jammu Development Authority online.

The Secretary of Information Technology, Saugat Biswas also examined digitization of records of the authority. It is estimated that under this digital move, nearly 25,000 files with nearly 18 lakh pages will be stored online and integrated with a Data Management Software [DMS]. This system will be then integrated with the e-office software that is being developed for the JDA.

This online system is targeted to be completed within four months and the Secretary Information technology ordered high-quality digitization of existing records as it will save time and make records easily accessible to the residents.
