DMRCDMRC i.e. the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation received a sanction of Rs. 414.70 crores in the recently tabled Union Budget for the current fiscal year. This fund allocation is more than what was proposed in the last budget.

Presently, DMRC has an operational route of 342 kms along with 250 stations. In March 2019, Blue line on the map was extended from Noida City Centre-Noida Electronic City section that has a starch of 6.6 kms.

The Metro Corporation has received grants to commence work on the stretch between Noida and Ghaziabad sections after the interim budget was presented in February 2019, the sources said.

A budget provision of Rs. 19,152 crore is also made for the Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) and this is greater than the earlier Budget allocation of Rs. 15,600 crores.

Earlier to this in March 2019, the DMRC commuters were given the opportunity to offer feedback as the Metro Corporation carried out an online survey to measure their performance on various parameters like availability, accessibility and security.

The Sixth Online Customer Satisfaction Survey was conducted by the Railway and Transport Strategy Centre (RTSC) in London, that manage CoMET (Community of Metros) and Nova benchmarking groups, till 14th April, 2019.

DMRC also released a statement on the same and said that the motive behind conducting this survey was to take suggestion from the commuters on what they think about metro operations and also about how to improve the quality of service.

These survey forms were made available in both Hindi and English language. The commuters had to click on the relevant feedback option by visiting the DMRC website. The feedback was asked about issues like availability, accessibility, reliability, information availability, quality of service, customer care, safety and security, ease of use, information prior to travel and during the travel, comfort and crowding.
