The Ministers Council of Haryana State gave their nod to grant one-time relief to illegal/unauthorized commercial constructions.
The unauthorized commercial constructions in the State are now eligible for one-time relief but the unauthorized conversions from residential to commercial structures are likely to get regularized according to an official. The Government approved one-time relief with the motive that all the illegal construction can be brought under Building Code according to the rules and law of the State.
Also, the department has to prepare an information technology-based platform to keep digital records of all information related to the unauthorized commercial constructions. Also, the department has to prepare a central database which will incorporate the building plans and the rules that have been violated. This report will also be given to the owner of the illegal construction to rectify the same.
The Haryana Government also made an amendment to Haryana Registration and Regulations of Societies Rules, 2012. Currently, there is no provision related to transfer of title and maintenance charges under the Government rules.
In fact, any housing society in the State cannot charge amount exceeding the limit of Rs 10,000 as a transfer fee for the transfer of title of an apartment/flat. The Societies are also required to fix maintenance charges of common area and facilities according to the size of an apartment.
