Kavita Jain, the Urban Local Bodies Minister in Haryana recently informed that the State Government has announced 100% interest waiver on one-time settlement of outstanding property tax under all municipal Corporations from January 1, 2019 to February 28, 2019.

She also said that till 31st December 2018, 30% rebate on interest was offered to residential property owners under Municipal Corporation, Municipal Committees and municipalities of the state.

Jain, the minister also informed that the directives are issued to all municipal officers for informing the citizens about this announcement made by the Manohar Lal-Khatter led Haryana Government as more people will deposit their outstanding property tax in the given period.

Earlier, the Haryana Government gave nod for reducing conversion rate by 50% in illegal colonies. The State Government offered huge relief to the residents of illegal colonies that fall under the jurisdiction of various municipal corporations and improvement trusts.

To convert the residential plots into commercial ones, an amendment was made to the policy as it also regulates the illegal conversions in rehabilitation that fall under Town Planning and Improvement Trust Schemes that are located in the areas.

Apart from this, the Haryana Government also made necessary changes in the new integrated licensing policy, 2016 that fall under the department of town and country planning [DTCP] in order to boost the real estate market in the State.

The developers become eligible to buy extra floor area ratio [FAR] in the current plot that will allow them to construct extra dwelling units in the same project.
