MCHG Commissioner also said that people can register property tax related complaints on the portal. He further informed that in the past two months the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram has collected Rs. 17 crore as the property tax payments.
The civic body officials said that the online system has made the payment procedure simple and this is surely for the better way to work. The sources said that the number of property owners has increased for clearing the property tax payment from April till June this year.
On an average every year, merely 2,000 to 3,000 property owners pay their outstanding dues in the first quarter of the fiscal year, but this time, approximately 11,282 owners paid the property tax prior by 31st May.
One of the officials said that the increasing number of property taxpayers in the first quarter of the fiscal year is a good sign for the civic body as it will prove beneficial to curb the number of property tax defaulters.
However, the Gurugram civic body is continuing the sealing and demolition drive apart from sending 400 notices to the property tax defaulters. The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram took the decision to auction 91 properties however the date for the same is yet to be finalized.
