Rohan Khaunte, the Revenue Minister shared details in Goa Assembly that the North Goa’s District Collector’s office received 1,984 applications and the South Goa collector’s office received 2,291 applications to regularize residential properties. In total, more than 4,000 applications for regularizing housing properties have been received by the administration. The Minister also replied to a question and said that the primary investigation and inspection has been completed by the team formed by the Goa Government in context to regularize the residential properties.
The minister also stated that the partition and mutation cases will be resolved within the timeframe set according to the Goa [Right of Citizens to Time-Bound Delivery of Public Services] Act 2013. While replying to another question in the assembly, Rohit Khaunte said that the Government has planned to implement the court case monitoring system and an SMS alert will also be sent to the lawyers and the concerned parties. Both, the lawyers and the concerned parties will be notified about various stages of cases and dates of hearing well in advance.
Some legislators demanded confirmation from Vijay Sardesai – the Town & Country Planning Minister about the shifting of National Highway -8 current route on which the minister said that NH-8 cannot pass through Chandor, which is the old capital and an alternate route for the same will be identified soon.
Earlier, the Goa Government passed the Town and Country Planning [Amendment] Bill 2018 according to which individual property owners can request for the land zone change and the action will be taken on the basis of the request of the property owners.
