In a recent development, the DMRC [Delhi Metro Rail Corporation] submitted the revised DPR [Detailed project report] in regard with the blue line extension that will be the metro phase 3 corridor connecting Noida Electronic City and Mohan Nagar.

As per the report, the Delhi metro rail corporation is expected to incur a cost of Rs. 1,866 crore for the construction of this corridor that is planned to have six stations.

Apart from this, the detailed project report also comprised of the Blue Line extension in Ghaziabad from Vaishali to Vasundhara Sector 2 that is planned as Phase 4 and the work on this corridor will commence after the completion of Phase 3 that is from Electronic City to Mohan Nagar.

Kanchan Verma, the Vice-Chairperson, Ghaziabad Development Authority said that the DMRC submitted a revised DPR for metro phase 3-line and the route will have six stations accordingly that includes Vaibhav Khand, DPS Indirapuram, Shakti Khand, Vasundhra Sector 5, Vasundhara Sector 2 and Mohan Nagar.

Verma also said that the construction cost is estimated at Rs 1,866 crore and this is a stretch of 5.91km that will connect Noida Electronic City (Sector 62).

In February 2018, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation submitted the first DPR to propose extension of metro in Ghaziabad via Noida Electronic City to Sahibabad. But, the revision took place as the Ghaziabad Development Authority decided to extend the metro line to Mohan Nagar.

As per the old DPR, the corridor was planned to have a stretch of 5.11km and had four stations. The estimated cost of construction was Rs.1,926 crore. However, in the revised DPR the cost is cut down by Rs. 60 crore.

GDA Vice Chairman also informed that the revised DPR for Vaishali to Vasundhara Sector 2 line is also submitted.

For the same, the cost is approximately Rs. 1,438 crore and this corridor will have three stations that are  Prahladgarhi, Vasundhara Sector 14 and Sahibabad.

The VC also said that the work on Noida Electronic City-Mohan Nagar stretch first commence first as the NCRTC will take charge near the phase 4 metro corridor and the authority do not want the work to coincide as it will create ruckus for the commuters.

The Ghaziabad Development Authority also urged to DMRC for the inclusion of feeder buses in its revised DPR that will run between the Noida Electronic City to Mohan Nagar route in Phase three.

Although the DMRC reminded that the feeder buses are only made available in Delhi and the GDA will try for the funding pattern that was used in the construction of Dilshad Garden-New Bus Adda metro station in Ghaziabad.
