The Delhi Development Authority introduced housing scheme 2019 online with the biggest ever budget but everything seems like everything going in vain as the homebuyers are not attracted to Narela. Hence, DDA is planning to hire a consultant to redevelop the locality. Once hired, the consultant will submit a DPR i.e. the Detailed Project report that will have all the details regarding the amenities that are required to attract homebuyers.

Tarun Kapoor, Vice-Chairman, DDA said that the authority is making every possible effort to resolve the issue of public transport and water system in the area. Other than this, the fewer job opportunities near to the locality is also a hurdle that is required to be crossed when expecting prospects who will buy housing units here.

In the Housing scheme 2019, the Delhi Development Authority has offered 8,000 homes for the economically weaker section but received only 1,000 applications. The sources said that the consultant will list infrastructural development that can be carried out in the Narela locality apart from the already existing Integrated Freight Complex. The consultant will also mark the requirement of amenities like shopping arcades, educational institutions and public transport in Narela.

In Narela, there are approximately 45,000 under-construction properties and the DDA aims to develop this locality as a commercial hub, the sources said.

Earlier in May 2019, the Delhi Development Authority [DDA] made efforts to make its Housing Scheme 2019 work. After receiving not so positive response for the scheme, the DDA is planning to receive more applications and the first move it made was extending the deadline for application submission by one month.

DDA is now planning to run an aggressive publicity campaign and one of the officials said that more advertisements campaigns will be launched to reach a maximum number of people through social media.
