Arvind Kumar the MA&UD principal Secretary in the State stated that the Telangana RERA portal will begin functioning from September 1. This portal will help the home buyers to stay updated about the registered housing projects and will also help them invest in the legal real estate projects in the state. The trial run of the RERA portal has begun as the office of the same is being prepared at AC Guards.
The Principal Secretary also said that the Municipal Administration is taking the help of Mahaonline Ltd. which is the joint venture of the Maharashtra Government and TCS Company which is responsible for maintaining the Maharashtra State’s RERA portal. The Telangana RERA will offer services to the developers for their registration along with the registration of the real estate agents. This portal will also address the grievances of the aspiring home buyers throughout the state.
The Telangana State has made an agreement with Mahaonline to be the maintenance agency for Telangana RERA portal up to three years since it becomes operational. The Mahaonline will also help the Telangana Government to update information on the portal. The registration fee collected by the developers under Telangana RERA will be paid to Mahaonline as the registration fee. The registration fee for the developers is one-time and it amount Rs. 750 whereas the Real estate agents have to pay Rs. 500 as the registration fee in Telangana.
The KCR Rao-led Telangana State had notified the RERA rules in August 2017 and the citizens are waiting for the RERA portal’s commencement since then. Rajeshwar Tiwari, the Special Chief Secretary (Revenue) is the temporary head of the RERA portal. It is mandatory for all developers in the State to get themself registered with the RERA in order to get approval from the Government for all projects launched after January 01st, 2017.
