The authority will soon begin the construction of the underpass at Noida sector 52/71 and will close the intersection at the same from 1st July for a year due to the development. Rs. 56 Crore is the estimated cost for the construction of 780-meter 6-lane underpass and ITD Cementation –a Mumbai-based firm is responsible to carry out this work.
The authority officials along with the Noida traffic police recently visited the intersection to prepare traffic diversion plan and this will also include an operational U-turns on Sector-62 road close to Sai Mandir at Sector-51 metro station.
Noida authority also plans to build two more U-turns at Sector-71 intersection that will be close to the foot over-bridge at Sector-52 metro station and one at Balaknath temple crossing on Vikas Marg.
Mukesh Kumar Vaish, Senior Manager, Work Circle 6, Noida Authority, said that the U-turns are being built to ensure smooth movement of vehicular traffic from all directions.
This underpass will make travel congestion-free while moving from the Noida City Centre to Greater Noida West. Along with this, the commuters will experience signal-free travel from Sector 62 to Dadri road via Sectors-51 and 52.
The deadline for completion of this underpass is March 2021 but the authority aims to complete the construction of this underpass within one year.
Earlier to this, GNIDA i.e. the Greater Noida Industrial Authority gave sanction to the 14-km-long Metro link that will connect the city to the national capital Delhi through DMRC’s Blue line.
According to a report, the extended link will commence from the blue line Botanical Garden Metro station and end at Noida Sector 142 Metro station that falls on the Aqua Line. Also, this metro route will ply parallel to the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway as the botanical garden metro station will function as the interchanging station for those commuting between the Janakpuri West-Botanical Garden route.
