The City and Industrial Development Corporation [CIDCO] has planned to launch a new housing scheme under EWS and LIG category in December 2018. Under the scheme, the authority will provide a total of 23000 flats i.e. 9000 for EWS and 14,000 for LIG home buyers. However, more information on this scheme is still awaited.
Apart from this, CIDCO is already coming up with the largest housing scheme under PMAY [Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojna]. This scheme will offer housing units to the LIG [Low-Income Group] section of the society. It will be flagged by Maharashtra CM on August 13, the same day when its registration will also start. The online registration will start on August 15 i.e. Independence Day on the portal https://lottery.cidcoindia.com/.
While the last date for offline registration will be September 15, the online registration will end on September 16. The lottery draw is scheduled for October 2.
Laxmikant Daware, marketing manager, said that a dedicated website is developed for the scheme to make the system more transparent. The applicants have to deposit the earnest money which will be refunded in case a housing unit is not allotted to the same person. Also, the applicant has to deposit Rs 280 apart from Rs 5,000 and Rs 25,000 for EWS and LIG section respectively.
Similar to the conditions for applying in PMAY scheme, here also the applicant has to follow certain rules like the applicant is required to produce his/her income certificate and anyone who is the domicile of a state can apply in this scheme.
In accordance to this, the people working in an unorganized sector can also apply for a housing unit under the PMAY [Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojna] Scheme. The CIDCO official said that the people applying under PMAY are required to register with the PMAY website and MHADA the nodal authority will verify the applications.
The carpet area for EWS housing units covers 25.81 sq.m. and cost Rs. 18 lakhs and the housing units for the LIG section covers 29.82 sq.m. area while the applicant has to pay Rs. 25 lakhs. The beneficiaries under PMAY Scheme will receive a subsidy of Rs 1.5 lakh from the Central Government and Rs 1 lakh from the State Government as a financial support to manage home buying in accordance with the bank loan facility.
