Best places to visit in Chandigarh

The Chandigarh civic body is planning to take actions against illegal construction in the city, Panchkula and Mohali. This decision is taken after the Punjab and Haryana High Court stated that the encroachments from the government land should be removed as early as possible.

The Municipal Corporation plans to visit each and every household to carry out the survey of the current situation after which a report will be filed on the action taken according to the High Court’s directive.

The first report in the same matter is likely to be presented by December 20.

The Chandigarh Civic body is planning to start a drive against encroachments by visiting the houses Sector 19 after which they will move to other residential and commercial localities. The officials of Municipal Corporation will collect the details of the house, total area of encroached land and other related information of the residential/commercial unit.

At present, the residents having encroachments will be identified and then they will be sent a notice for the same by the Municipal Corporation. The residents or the encroachers will be given some time to remove the encroachment and the authority will take stringent action if the residents fail to do so.

A majority of law-violators in the residential areas have extended their balconies or garden which is illegal and is problematic for those who wish to park their vehicles in government-designated spaces.
