In order to give relief to the Bengaluru citizens, BDA launched an online system for payment of property tax (site and flat), which will be accessible on both smartphones and computers. The facility was started recently with a simple announcement on BDA’s website.
According to senior BDA official, property taxpayers can now visit www.bdabangalore.org or https://propertytax.bdabangalore.org to make the tax payment. Users first have to register themselves on the portal, after which they can login to their account to find out their dues and make payment online.
He further explained, “The registration is very simple. One has to enter the site number, property ID number and full name. When the data is verified, the system requests for your mobile number and email ID. A one-time password is sent to both. After this is done, the property owner’s records are updated.”
“Further, by logging in using the OTP, one can access details on the tax to be paid and pay it instantly.” added official.
Moreover to provide solutions to the problem of property owners BDA officials, who earlier interact with citizens between 3 pm and 5.30pm, will now be available between 11 am and 5.30pm on all working days.
A public-grievance meeting will also be held at the BDA office on second and fourth Wednesday of every month at 3 pm.
While online payment of BBMP property tax is common, this is the first time BDA has started the facility of online payment mode.
