In a recent development, a senior official of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has revealed that in the past one year, investment has received a major boost in and around the Yamuna Expressway areas. Especially after the announcement of the bidding process, more investors are interested to invest.
Giving more information on the above, Shailendra Bhatia, an officer on special duty, YEIDA said, “The authority has already given its approval for setting up 255 industrial units in approximately 450 acres of area. These industries include food, electronic manufacturing, medical and surgical equipment, automobile parts, steel fabrication, mobile manufacturing, and packaging, etc.”
“As the authority has streamlined the entire investment process online through a single-window system, the transparency level has increased calling upon more investors on the same platform,” Bhatia added further.
He also informed that the authority till date has already issued allotment to 169 units in a total area of 87 acres. The cost of these projects is Rs 787.69 crores. On the other hand, the manufacturing unit of VIVO is spread across about 170 acres of area and is investing 5200 crores. Further lease deeds for three other industrial units have also been executed recently.
The authority has also given the approval to set up a 25-acre international medical research and trauma center in Sector 22E.
Meanwhile, on the development front, 14 bidders have been selected by the authority who has expressed their interest to join as the developer for the airport. The bidders include companies from both India and other parts of the world. In order to address their issues and queries, the authority has announced to keep a pre-bid conference on July 15 in Greater Noida.
“The bidders will also be informed about the terms and conditions for the development of Greenfield Noida International Airport at Jewar. The bid would be finalized by November 29, 2019, and the groundwork is expected to start by early 2020.” Bhatia Informed.
Once fully developed, the Jewar Airport will be the country’s biggest airport spread over 5000 acres of area. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 15,754 crore and phase 1 is expected to be completed by 2023.
