The aspiring home buyers under the Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojna [PMAY] in Pune must have Aadhaar cards the officials said.
Nearly 30,000 beneficiaries are lined up for 15 PPP [Public Private Partnership] model schemes in the areas falling under the jurisdiction of Pune city. The detailed project report i.e. DPR is being prepared for projects under PMAY and thus the Aadhaar cards have made mandatory for the beneficiaries who have not filled for a home under the same scheme in any other region of India.
The economically weaker section is the sole beneficiaries of the PMAY scheme and the officials have formed an agency to verify the beneficiaries’ details.
Pravin Deore the additional commissioner PMRDA was quoted saying, that in the present scenario the authority has 15 developers and they are likely to construct 28,000 houses and 14,000 will be for the Economically Weaker Section and all these dwelling units will be located in Bhor, Haveli and Khed talukas in the district.
The Pune city has the largest number of proposals and the authority is sure of crossing 50,000 houses in the next six months. A person can apply online for the scheme although only the citizens of India are eligible for application under the PMAY [Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojna] scheme. The applicant must also have a yearly income of 3 lakh and should not own a home on his/her name in any other region of the country.
Kiran Gitte the PMRDA commissioner earlier announced the PPP project with a suggestion of eight models.
