In order to fast-track the work of the Jewar Airport, the State Government has directed all the three authorities to provide funds for the project. The order has been given by the UP chief secretary Anup Chandra Pandey to Noida, Greater Noida, and Yamuna Expressway, in a recently held meeting in Lucknow.

CEOs of the three authorities as well as Noida international airport limited (NIAL), the agency which has been appointed to supervise the airport development work were present during the meeting. Giving after the meeting, both YEIDA and NIAL CEO Arun Vir Singh, said, “As discussed earlier too, the Noida authority and the state government will both have a stake of 37.5% each in the company while the Greater Noida authority and the YEIDA will have a stake of 12.5% each.”

“Hence, the Noida authority needs to provide Rs 1,500 crore funds. The Greater Noida authority and the YEIDA need to provide Rs 500 crore each as contribution towards the project. The state government’s share of Rs 1,500 crore is scheduled to come later.” Singh added.

He further said that the UP Govt. has asked all the three authorities to provide their respective contributions by December-end so that the administration can pay compensation to farmers whose land is to be acquired for the airport.

Recently, the Uttar Pradesh Government has also issued a notification to start the land acquisition process for the Jewar Airport. It has been projected that the overall estimated cost of the Jewar Airport project will be 15,000-Rs 20,000 crore.

Also, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath recently assured that the International Airport at Jewar would be ready within next three years.
